PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is in Maputo, Mozambique for the inauguration of Filipe Nyusi as Mozambique’s President following his re-election in 0ctober last year.
President Mnangagwa is part of the more than three thousand delegates invited to attend the inauguration ceremony this Wednesday.
“This is an inauguration of a brother President Filipe Nyusi, who successfully won the last election here peacefully and fairly. I am happy to be in Maputo to witness the inauguration of my brother. When I was inaugurated in spite of the fact that he was busy with election campaigns in Mozambique he was able to abandon that to come and witness my inauguration, so I have done the same to support him,” said President Mnangagwa on his arrival in Maputo.
President Nyusi representing Frelimo romped to victory by garnering 73 percent of the vote in an election held in October last year.
Zimbabwe and Mozambique enjoy cordial relations that have been sustained over many years through political and economic co-operation and robust trade relations.
