A delegation from the Palestine Liberation Organisation has jetted into the country to attend the ZANU PF War Veterans League Elective Conference slated for the 8th of this month.
Foreign delegates from like-minded liberation parties from across the globe have started trooping in for the inaugural War Veterans League Elective Conference, with the latest being a delegation from the Palestine Liberation Organisation.
After touching down at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport this Tuesday evening, the leadership voiced solidarity with the ruling ZANU PF party, optimistic of tapping into their experiences.
“We are happy to be in solidarity with Zimbabwe’s ruling party which got independence. We are also struggling for independence hence we have a lot to learn from the people of Zimbabwe. We are also in solidarity with the people of Zimbabwe against the sanctions,” said Kifar Harb Abdalqadah, Member of the Fatah Revolutionary Council PLO
Welcoming the delegation, ZANU PF Secretary for War Veterans Affairs Cde Douglas Mahiya spoke on the significance of solidarity from like-minded revolutionary parties.
“Our common denominator with the PLO is the struggle against colonialism and oppression, it is our duty to extend the relations. We expect another delegation tomorrow.” he said.
The inaugural ZANU PF War Veterans League Elective Conference, which will be held between the 8th and 10th month, is set to usher in new leadership.
More regional parties are expected to attend the conference.
