The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation – ZBC has received personal protective equipment from funeral services firm, Nyaradzo Group in move meant to protect its frontline staff from Covid-19.
As Zimbabwe strives to continue flattening the Covid-19 curve, various initiatives by corporates to protect the lives of frontline workers have gained momentum across the country
It is in this spirit that this Tuesday Nyaradzo Group donated personal protective equipment to the national broadcaster as it strives to safeguard the lives of its employees.
Accepting the donation, Acting ZBC Chief Executive Officer Ms Helliate Rushwaya thanked Nyaradzo for the kind gesture saying it will go a long way in protecting ZBC’s front line staff as they package news for the Zimbabwean populace.
Nyaradzo Group Head of Corporate Strategy, Mr Batsirai Simango said they appreciate the critical role of the national broadcaster in information dissemination hence they responded to the call of duty.
With Zimbabwe among the first 8 African countries to roll out inoculation against the deadly pandemic, safety measures continue to be at the core of its response strategy, including wearing masks, sanitisation, and maintaining social distancing, among other World Health Organisation guidelines.
