Names of Musina accident victims released

THE South African police in the town of Musina have confirmed that seven people who perished in a road accident on Sunday night are indeed Zimbabweans.
In a statement, the Musina police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo released names of the deceased as Gilbert Mahonolwa a male adult who was driving and was 50 years old.
Others are Sunday Winston a 28 year old male, Morris Tanyanago a 62 year old male, Shelter Muzwidziwa a three year old girl, Tanyanago Ngaakudzwe a one year old baby boy, Sharon Ngathi a 25 year old female and Kudzai Chikongende who was 24 years old,
It is expected that the bodies of the deceased will be repatriated home for burial soon.
The tragic accident occurred some five kilometres after the Beitbridge Border Post along the N1 highway.
In a statement on Tuesday, Brigadier Mojapelo said a culpable homicide case has been opened following the accident.
He says the accident occurred when a Beitbridge bound Toyota Fortuna smashed into the side of a truck.
The truck driver who did not sustain any injuries is being charged with culpable homicide and police are still investigating.
