Local artists have joined hands in celebrating the life of hero and Zimdancehall star, Soul Jah Love through music.
Soul Jah Love’s body laid in state at his home yeaterday before burial today at Warren Hills cemetery.
Various musicians including Jah Prayzah, Jah master, DJ Fantan and Mathias Mhere gave a befitting send off to the late popular Zimdancehall chanter through a virtual concert.
As the artists celebrate Soul Jah Love’s short but well lived life, many will remember him for his collaborations which gave fame to fellow artists.
‘Chibaba Chenyuchi’ a phrase now popular as street lingo, was popularised through the song ‘Nyuchi’ a collaboration between Soul Jah Love and Dendera maestro, Sulumani Chimbetu.
‘Mari Mari’ a track by Queen Vee featuring Soul Jah love also became a hit which was played on international music channels including Trace Africa.
‘African Queen’ a collaboration with Urban grooves musician, Trevor Dongo is another hit featuring Sauro which was on several occasions, used at a number of ceremonies including the Miss Zimbabwe pageant.
‘Ndakupenga’ with Shinsoman and ‘Tafafitana’ by Nox are other songs on which the Zimdancehall chanter featured.
Meanwhile, Soul Jah Love’s last lap back home was a clear testimony of the man he was as his legion of fans and colleagues could not resist the temptation of one last dance with their hero.
