THE SADC Extra Organ Troika plus Mozambique has urged SADC member states to support the government and people of Mozambique in fighting against terrorists and some armed groups in Cabo Del Gado province of that country.
This follows a meeting hosted by His Excellency President, Emmerson Mnangagwa, this Tuesday in his capacity as the chairperson of the SADC organ on Politics, Defense and Security.
The main purpose of the summit was to consider the urgent security situation in Mozambique following that country’s formal request to the regional body.
This follows disturbances in some parts of Mozambique where gruesome acts have been committed by Islamist terrorists.
President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi of Mozambique, President Dr Mogkweetsi Masisi of Botswana and President Edgar Lungu of Zambia attended the meeting.
