THE Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa has this Friday launched Nyangani FM Radio at the Country Club in Nyanga.
Earlier, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa toured Nyangani FM, where she briefly went on air before commissioning the station.
She said the radio station should be used to promote sustainable development as well as local languages, adding the rich history of the liberation struggle should be part of the station’s critical content.
Senator Mutsvangwa said the business community and local leadership should support the radio station for it to run sustainably.
Government has to date licenced 10 Community radio stations, a clear testimony that the Second Republic is walking the talk in liberalising the media space.
The commissioning of Nyangani FM follows the launch of Avuxeni FM in Chiredzi a few weeks ago.
