PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has challenged young people to take advantage of the good economic policies under the Second Republic to transform their lives.

He was speaking at the launch of the Men BelievED Movement in Harare this Friday evening.

The need for young people to desist from fighting and engaging in demonstrations but come up with viable business initiatives that generate income took centre stage at the launch of the Men BelievED Movement in Harare this Friday.

Officially launching the movement, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said the nation needs hard-working individuals who shun corruption.

“Don’t waste your time on demonstrations, make money, don’t fight, make money. The second republic has come up with favourable policies which create good opportunities to make money, we need hard honest workers, and if you engage in corruption, then we condemn you,” said the President.

“I urge all of us to remain with our shoulders on the wheel and continue to work hard and honestly with an unwavering commitment to our great motherland. Corruption is a cancer that must be totally eradicated from all levels of our society. As an organisation, I invite you to join in the fight and say “No to corruption”. I equally challenge you to remain resolute in fighting crime and other social vices,” he said.

President Mnangagwa commended the group for believing in ZANU PF policies, urging them to scale up the implementation of party programmes.

“The successes we continue to witness under the second republic must always serve as a reminder of who we are as ZANU PF. We are a People’s Party, the only Party with a history and indeed the only Party with a sound ideology and vision for the future. I, therefore, challenge the team behind this MEN BelievED initiative and other affiliate organisations, to continue to translate the true meaning of our hard-won independence by scaling up the implementation of programmes and projects envisioned in our Party Constitution, Congress and conference resolutions, our Manifesto as well as the National Development Strategy-1 and Vision 2030,” he said.

He noted that despite the existence of illegal economic sanctions, the country continues to register successes in all sectors of the economy.

“As we convene at this important launch, our country continues to register successes on many fronts and across all key sectors of the economy. The ease of doing business reforms implemented by my Government have seen increased investment inflows, whilst remittances from our citizens in the diaspora continue to reach new levels.

“As such, our economy is projected to grow by 7.8% this year, making us one of the highest growth rates in our region. The rate of the construction of infrastructure such as roads, dams, schools and health facilities is unprecedented,” said the President.

Men BelievED is a movement of empowered entrepreneurs who support the vision of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
