A local medical doctor has appeared in court facing fraud charges for allegedly producing fake medical test reports.

Euro-Pacific 24 Medical Doctor Michael Mandaza was remanded in custody pending bail ruling set for this Friday when he appeared in court this Thursday.

Mandaza is accused of collecting blood, sputum and other samples for tests and claiming fees for the service knowing fully well that he has no laboratory to conduct such tests.

It is alleged Mandaza prepared medical reports purporting that the tests were done at a fictitious lab named as Sampling Diagnostic Laboratory.

However, in his defence the accused told the court that the whole scenario is an organised trap from expelled employees and denied ever producing the alleged medical reports.

He will be back in court this Friday for bail ruling.

Still at the courts, a 26 year old man has appeared in court on allegations of robbery.

The court heard that Chamunorwa Genge allegedly connived with other accomplices who are still at large and forced entry at the University of Zimbabwe farm where they man-handled the farm director at gun point and took 60 thousand United States dollars and mobile phones among other accessories.

It is alleged Genge and his accomplices Lazarus Chinobhururka, Godfrey Josi, Peter Mushipe, Bruce Mupardzi, Temba Mugabe, Zvidozvashe Zuda, Shepherd Mutanga, Benjamin Musasa, Ephraim Alphas and Valentine Mutasa were armed with pistols, iron bars and hammers.

Genge, who was remanded in custody, will be back in court on the nd of next month.
