Mberengwa North legislator donates towards nurses quarters

Mberengwa North legislator, Tafanana Zhou has donated building material for the construction of a nurses’ quarters at Neta clinic in Mberengwa.
Health workers at the health facility were being forced to travel a distance of over 30 kilometres to and from Zvishavane on a daily basis, thereby affecting service delivery at the institution.
“Neta clinic was a brainchild of the community and our desire as the community is to see the clinic becoming a big referral centre as it is located along the Masvingo–Bulawayo highway. As you aware accidents occur anytime but we believe if we transform this clinic, it may work a great deal,” said Zhou.
Ward 36 Councillor for the district, Trevopis Mlambo and members of the community have since welcomed the support being rendered to the clinic which was officially opened by the First Lady, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa.
“We are happy for the gesture by our mp and we hope that will motivate our health workers “We were in a predicament of not having health services after hours but we believe if our nurses are resident at the clinic, they will attend to emergency cases,” said a resident from the benefiting community.
This development comes at a time when the government is working round the clock to revamp existing health care facilities in various parts of the country to ensure that health services are accessible to all.
