Inspector Mazula said the bus which had 57 passengers on board then veered off the road and hit a nearby tree after side-swiping the vehicle.

His body was taken to Masvingo provincial hospital and his name is being withheld until his next of kin has been informed.
This follows another accident this Tuesday which occurred along the same road where five people were killed when a BMW which was travelling towards Beitbridge collided with a Honda Fit going in the opposite direction at a place popularly referred to as kwa Bathi.
Three people died, while two were burnt beyond recognition in the accident which occurred at the 41 km peg near Ngomahuru turn-off along Masvingo-Beitbridge Road.
When ZBC News arrived at the scene of the accident, remains of two people who were travelling in the BMW were still burning in the vehicle, while one body was lying on the ground.
According to villagers from the area, the accident occurred after the BMW vehicle tried to overtake, resulting in a head-on collision.
