AMBITIOUS Mutare based Premier Soccer league outfit, Manica Diamonds are gunning for nothing short of victory when they take on log leaders Dynamos at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Separated by just three points, with Dynamos on 23 points, while Manica Diamonds are third with 20 points, the match promises to be a cracker.

Manica Diamonds have performed well in the comfort of Sakubva Stadium against the big boys having beaten Highlanders and Caps United and drawing with Chicken Inn and FC Platinum.

However, they have been poor on the road losing to Herentals and sharing the spoils with Yadah and Cranborne Bullets.

Ahead of Sunday’s match, Manica Diamonds Coach Johanisi Nhumwa believes they have what it takes to upstage Dembare.

“There are no more small clubs, we go there with a bullish attitude and we believe we can win, we have had good results against the tradition big boys and we hope to carry that form,” said Coach Nhumwa.

Before the top of the table clash, defending Champions FC Platinum host Highlanders at Mandava Stadium in a potentially exciting encounter, while Tenax entertain Yadah at Sakubva stadium, with Harare City looking to dehorn Black Rhinos at the National Sports Stadium.

Benjani Mwaruwari who is still searching for his first win as Ngezi Platinum Stars head coach has another tough assignment away to ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga stadium, while the Bulawayo derby between Chicken Inn and Bulawayo City concludes Saturday’s action.

Sunday will see rejuvenated Caps United travelling to Gibbo Stadium for a date against Triangle while Cranborne Bullets face Herentals as Bulawayo Chiefs clash with Whawha at Luveve stadium.
