A 25- year-old Norton man has appeared in court facing charges of vehicle robbery along the Harare-Bulawayo highway.

Albert Chikuse allegedly robbed his victim Kudakwashe Toro of his vehicle after he found him reliving himself near the road.

It is the state’s case that on the 21st of this month, Toro was driving along the Harare – Bulawayo highway to his place of residence in Norton.

The state led by Mr Lancelot Mutsokoti alleged that along the way at Family 24, Toro stopped to relieve himself when Chikuse together with his accomplices approached and manhandled him.

The court heard that the accused persons assaulted Toro and left him for dead before they took his vehicle.

It is alleged Toro later regained consciousness and got assistance from well-wishers and made a police report leading to the accused person’s arrest.

Meanwhile, two women Letwin Chigume and Patience Ruzvidzo have appeared in court on allegations of aggravated indecent assault after trying to effect a virginity test on a 14- year-old girl.

The court heard that on an unknown date in February this year, the two assaulted the child before they went on to test her virginity without her consent.

The matter came to light after the victim revealed what happened to her mother leading to the duo’s arrest.
