FORGING documents to claim mining rights has landed a 65 year old man in trouble after he was dragged to court on charges of fraud this Saturday.

Jackson Murehwa appeared before Harare magistrate Yeukai Dzuda facing charges of fraud after he allegedly tendered fake documents to claim a mine in Bindura.

The court heard that the 65 year old Murehwa and the complainant were in a dispute over a mine in Bindura and the accused allegedly tendered a fake letter which gave him the rights to carryout mining activities.

It is alleged that the complainant carried out investigations only to realise the purported author of the letter had not written or signed the documents.

He reported the matter to the police with investigations leading to the arrest of the accused.

Murehwa is expected back in court on the 23rd of next month.

In another matter, a 16 year old boy appeared in court facing charges of rape after he allegedly lured an 18 year old mentally challenged woman to his house before raping her once.

It is alleged that after the incident, the complainant told her 14 year old sister before telling her mother who in turn reported the matter to the police.

He was remanded to the 28th of this month.

Still at the courts, a 48 year old man who is facing three counts of raping his juvenile daughter also appeared in court.

It is alleged that the Harare man raped his young daughter three times before the matter came to light.

He was remanded in custody to the 13th of this month and advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
