MDC Alliance members; Joanna Mamombe, Cecelia Chimbiri, Netsai Marowa and Obey Sithole have been remanded to the 13th of this month, pending the results of Mamombe’s mental examination.

The quartet appeared at the Harare magistrate courts this Monday, where the state indicated that Mamombe’s results will be out within four to six weeks.

Mamombe, who is facing charges of publicising false statements and faking abduction, was admitted at the Harare remand prison under the care of the prison Superintendent for two weeks, pending medical examination by two government doctors.

This comes after Mamombe had failed to attend trial citing mental instability.

Still at the courts, the trial of Zimbabwe Football Association- ZIFA boss, Felton Kamambo failed to kick-off this Monday as the presiding magistrate was not in attendance.

Kamambo’s defence Advocate Tawanda Zhuwarara notified the court of his client’s intention to file an application of exception which will be heard this Tuesday.

The ZIFA Boss is facing charges of bribery in relation to the process which swept him to power two years ago.

Kamambo allegedly paid bribes ranging from as little as 50 United State dollars to 500 US dollars through several mobile money transactions for councillors to vote for him during the 2018 elections in which he beat Phillip Chiyangwa.
