Malawian legislators interested in working with Zim legislators

A delegation from the Parliament of Malawi has expressed interest in collaborating with the local legislature for the benefit of both countries.

The visiting Malawi Parliamentary delegation has paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Advocate Jacob Mudenda to exchange notes on the conduct of parliament and senate business.

Emerging from a closed-door meeting, Malawian Head of Delegation and Speaker of the National Assembly for Malawi, Honourable Catherine Gotani expressed interest in working hand in glove with Zimbabwean legislators with a special focus on the need to adopt new technologies.

“We came here on a learning mission as you know that Zimbabwe and Malawi have been close friends for some time. We are here to appreciate how Zimbabwe conduct its business. We were able to share notes. We have discovered that Zimbabwe we have similarities. The key take always are that we need to adapt to changing technologies as we are not static,” said Hon Gotani.

The delegation is in the country for a four day study tour and is expected to visit the National Heroes Acre and the Museum of African Liberation in Harare.
