The gangs are causing a reign of terror in Bulawayo amid revelations that they are pouncing on unsuspecting residents in various suburbs around the City.

“We are facing an upsurge in robbery cases particularly those welding machetes, knives and hammers. We have so far recorded 15 robbery cases within two weeks,” said Bulawayo Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Abednico Ncube.

He added that the most affected areas are western suburbs.

“The most affected places are western suburbs and the latest case is a cold blooded murder which occurred two days ago where Langelihle Dube age 52 was killed for US$24 in a robbery case at his house,” he added.

Police have since appealed to members of the public to collaborate with law enforcement agents to bring the culprits to book.
