THE Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC)’s local content drive continues to pay dividends as the National Broadcaster continues to engage local independent producers into collaborative productions.
Commenting on the recent collaboration between the national broadcaster and local production Battle of the Chefs producers, ZBC Acting Chief Executive Officer Helliate Rushwaya applauded local producers for coming up with quality television programmes.
“According to the Broadcasting Services Act the national broadcaster is mandated to promote local content productions and thus we have scaled up engagements and collaborations with these producers,” said Rushwaya.
Speaking to ZBC News, the Executive producer of the television series Battle of the Chefs, Joseph Bonga and the movie Cookoff producer Joe Njagu commended the national broadcaster for accommodating local independent producers and prospects of collaborations.
“We really appreciate working with the national broadcaster as this will go a long way in helping us improve and maintain our standards,” said Bonga.
“Following the end of season 3 of The Battle of the Chefs, ZBC TV viewers must now brace for season 4 and start registering for the season,” said Njagu.
The national broadcaster continues to activate a vibrant culture of quality local content productions through engaging and creating partnerships in an effort to shape the local television programming.
