Local industry hailed for spearheading economic revival

Government has exalted captains of industry for their resilience in steering Zimbabwe’s economic turnaround strategy despite various challenges including the Covid-19 pandemic.

As Zimbabwe continues to march towards attaining an upper middle-income society by 2030, the symbiotic relationship between government and the private sector is central to this collective vision.

Speaking at this year’s Zimbabwe CEO’s network awards ceremony in Harare this Thursday, the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa emphasised that leadership is indispensable, hence it should be recognised for the benefit of the country.

“I am deeply honoured to stand before you at this auspicious event where leadership is being recognised. This is encouraging and is a good direction towards attaining broad macroeconomic objectives,” she said.

Senator Mutsvangwa encouraged business to remain steadfast in the face of a challenging economic environment due to sanctions.

“As government we continue to provide an enabling environment for the thriving of businesses. However, the effects of Sanctions are crippling your smooth operations as such we are calling for their total removal.”

Government has strengthened the cooperation of public and private sectors for enhanced economic efficiency and effectiveness.
