The good times are set to roll for football giants Highlanders and Dynamos after Sakunda Holdings unveiled a US$5,3 million three-year sponsorship deal at a colourful event in Harare this Tuesday.
The colourful event, which was attended by greats from the two football clubs and the who is who in Zimbabwean sport showed the significance of the sponsorship package.
As reported by ZBC News on Monday, each club will receive US$890 000 per year over the next three years.
The two football giants believe they have been oiled to recreate memories.
Dynamos chairman Isaiah Mupfurutsa said: “The marriage we are witnessing today is set to be a game changer for clubs that believes in nothing but success.”
“It is a clear intern and desire to grow sport and subsequently grow the country’s economy,” Highlanders chairman Johnfat Sibanda said.
Government has also been impressed by the support football players are getting through the sponsorship deal.
“When I saw the brief, I was happy with how this deal puts players first and this sponsorship will change lives. It’s not just a salary,” said Honourable Kirsty Coventry, the Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts And Recreation.
The two club captains and coaches are also set to receive brand new vehicles courtesy of Sakunda Holdings.
The sponsor went a step further after promising to give houses to club legends MADINDA Ndlovu and Moses Chunga while he the late George Shaya will be honored in the same way posthumously.
