Local content producers to receive funding

INFORMATION, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa has challenged content producers to come up with productions which promote nation building.

Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services Senator Minister, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa engaged content producers in Harare this Thursday with a rallying call for them to produce content which speaks into the priorities of vision 2030 as part of promoting nation building.

“It’s my sincere hope to have future engagements with all of you. Our doors are open, we need your expertise. The key is to provide listeners with facts that will help them make critical decisions. The new dispensation’s priorities are very clear, that is to make Zimbabwe a middle income society. I expect content creators to create content that speaks into priorities of vision 2030. We have a number of new TV stations which entails demand of high quality content. As a ministry, we promise to create a conducive environment for content creators and we are coming with a funding package to assist you until you are able to stand on your own. Come up with content key in peace building,” she said.
In attendance were various content producers who applauded the Minister’s initiative which afforded them a platform to exchange ideas.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services has pledged to assist content producers across the country with funding packages.
