ZANU-PF President and First Secretary Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa says a number of developmental projects are being implemented across the country to improve people’s lives.
He was addressing party supporters who thronged Rutenga Grounds this Monday, after travelling 443 kilometers by road from Harare to Rutenga on an assignment in rural Zimbabwe.
This tour of duty gave the President an opportunity to assess work being done along the Harare-Beitbridge highway.
“Kana ndakatarira kubva uku, mese munoziva kuti uyu musangano weZANU PF, imwi ndimwi ZANU PF iyoyo. Kuno uku, kana kune umwe anenge arikoko, unongoidavo, wose aripano tovimba kuti tese tinoda ZANU PF. Takabatana muZANU PF. We love our leaders,” he said.
President Mnangagwa slammed some retrogressive Zimbabweans who rejoice in the suffering of other citizens by calling for the imposition of illegal sanctions on the country.
“Makore makumi mana tasununguka, kova nevamwe vachinerangariro yekuti vaya vatakadzinga vadzoke kunyika yekwedu. Ivo voti masanctions ari targetted companies and individuals, inhema, kana mukaita target agriculture, mining, manufacturing, tisawana mishina mitsva, vanhu voshaya mabasa. Vanenge vachiti tikapa nyika masanctions inofanirwa kugwadama, targetted sanctions are meant to destroy the economy. In the Second Republic we say let’s not put our eyes outside. We must not look for outside help, so, we said let’s utilise local resources for the benefit of Zimbabwe. Kune tumwe tusangano twakakumbira masanctions such that they will take over, hazvifi zvakaitika. Onai kuwanda kwamakaita muchida nyika yekwenyu. After 41 years achiri kufunga kuti regai varungu vadzoke, isai masanctions vanhu vatambure,” the President said.
As the summer cropping season beckons, government has allowed those who work hard to get more inputs under the Presidential Free Input Scheme.
“Rwendo rwuno tati wedzerai ndima. Ndava kunzwa kuti vakomana veArex vanonyora vachisiya, kana pane madhumeni varipano let that spirit leave you. Inputs are from Government, Presidential inputs, madhumeni ndovanokupayi,” he said.
Thousands of party supporters walked away with farming inputs.
