THE Zimbabwe women national cricket team, the Lady Chevrons maintained their unbeaten run at the T20 Quadrangular Series in Dubai after beating Thailand by three wickets in their last match of the tournament.
Thailand won the toss and chose to bat, setting a target of 103 with 102 runs for the loss of two wickets in 20 overs.
The Lady Chevrons were up to the task, with the partnership between Shame Mayers (20) and Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano (11) sending Zimbabwe to 39 runs in five overs for the loss of just a wicket.
This left Zimbabwe needing 64 runs from 90 balls and the Lady Chevrons duly delivered getting to the target in 18.4 overs after posting 106 for the loss of seven wickets to claim a three-wicket victory.
The Lady Chevrons will now approach the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup qualifiers which get underway on Sunday in Abu Dhabi with their heads held high.
