JAZZ enthusiasts are in for a treat with the 2022 edition of the Jabulani Jazz Festival taking centre stage on the 29th of April in Harare.

Aimed at promoting Jazz music in the country, the two-day Jabulani Jazz Festival will coincide with the International Jazz Day which is commemorated annually on the 30th of April.

Speaking to ZBC News Walter Wanyanya from the Ngoma Nehosho outfit said the festival will give local jazz musicians a platform to showcase their talent.

“One of the reasons we have the festival is to give jazz artists an opportunity to showcase their talent given some of the places that catered for jazz enthusiasts closed down. “It is going to be happening on the 29th and 30th of April in Harare at Cresta Lodge. The month of April is Jazz month so this year we have decided to do it at a time where the whole world will be celebrating jazz. We are very excited and hopefully we will be able to have more numbers then because of COVID-19,” he said.

Sylent Nqo and Taka Nemachinda are some of the budding musicians that performed in the last edition of the festival which was held virtually.

The festival will feature artists’ development workshops, among other events lined up.
