In the Spirit of Ubuntu and cleanliness, the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services has offered to carryout regular clean up exercises at a local shopping centre in Harare as part of efforts to keep the environment clean.

The Ministry and parastatals that include the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC), Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) and Transmedia have been working together for regular clean up exercises at the shopping centre hence the move to formally adopt the area as patrons of environmental stewardship.

“We have cleaned here before and we have seen that there is need for us to keep in doing this. Last time we came here we cleaned but today it is not showing so we have taken it upon ourselves to ensure that we regularly clean the area and encourage patrons to practice good hygiene by not littering the environment,” said Mr Jonathan Gandari, Chief Director – Government Programmes and Messaging in the Ministry of information Publicity and Broadcasting Services.

Apart from picking up litter, staff from the ministry and media organisations also took time to cut the tall grass surrounding the shopping centre.
