TRADE and economic relations between South Africa and Zimbabwe have significantly increased over the past four years as witnessed by the number of South African companies which continue to invest in Zimbabwe.
This was revealed by outgoing South African Ambassador to Zimbabwe His Excellency Mphakama Mbete when he paid a courtesy call on President Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House in Harare this Monday.
After serving four years in Zimbabwe, Ambassador Mphakama Mbete bade farewell to President Emmerson Mnangagwa after having fulfilled his mission to build stronger economic and trade relations between South Africa and Zimbabwe.
”The intensification by my mission on the area of economic relations involved engaging South African companies working in Zimbabwe, engaging economic organisations in Zimbabwe to try and understand the key priorities that will be there between the two countries and I think there has been a lot of progress in that. There have been a few investors that came from South Africa during my period here I have a lot of hope for the future, “said Mbete.
Ambassador Mbete leaves Harare a happy man as relations between the two countries continue to strengthen.
