Hwange man faces 12 counts of child abuse

ABUSE of minors remains a cause for concern in the country after Hwange man appeared in court facing 12 counts of child abuse.
Alfred Ndlovu aged thirty-six was charged under the child protection act for ill-treating minors.
It is alleged that in one of the incidents Ndlovu reportedly tied one of his children with a wire on the wrists and suspended his body on a tree before assaulting him several times.
In another instance, the accused allegedly covered one of the minors with a piece of cloth, ordered her to lie down and assaulted her several times on the backside after accusing her of coming back late from an errand.
According to the state the incidents of abuse came to light when the minors visited their grandmother and told her they were being ill-treated.
The grandmother told a child care worker who in turn advised her to report the matter to the police.
The minors were taken to St Patricks hospital for medical examination with the reports being produced as evidence in court.
The accused was remanded in custody to the 10th of January.
