Harare magistrate Judith Taruvinga has sentenced MDC Alliance activist Makomborero Haruzivishe to an effective 14 months jail term.
Haruzivishe was facing charges of inciting violence and resisting arrest.
Haruzivishe was initially slapped with a 24-months jail sentence on the first count, with 10 months suspended.
On the second count, he was handed a 12-month prison term before 6 months were suspended. He will effectively serve 14 months in prison.
Meanwhile, there was chaos at the Harare Magistrates court where Haruzivishe was being sentenced as protestors attempted to stage a demo just after the ruling, before police forces displaced the mob.
