THE Harare Province Rugby Board fourth round of the Paramount Garments U20 League 2020 matches will take place on Saturday 29 February 2020, kicking off at 9:30am, on the Nigel Phillip Field at Churchill Boys High School, home of the defending champions Pitbulls.
Having taken a bye last week, to celebrate the Robert Mugabe Youth Day holiday, hostilities will resume this weekend.
After Round 3 match results the races for the various championships wide are still open. In the women’s draw, Harare Sports Club extended their lead, with a narrow 22 – 20 win over third placed Old Georgians, while FS Raiders and XP Horns match was one sided affair in favour of the Raiders.
In the first Division, FS Raiders remains unbeaten, at the summit of the table, with a comfortable win over the XP Horns. With a win against Marondera Talons paving way for Mabvuku to be second on the log standings.
In the Premiership, Harare Sports Club remains winless crashing to a heavy 108 – 00 defeat against the in-form Pitbulls. Alex Sports Club registered their second win against the 14man Southern City, while the Old Georgians maintained their winning streak with a comfortable win against a poor Old Hararians side.
The Harare Province Rugby Board this year signed a three year sponsorship deal with local clothing manufacturer, Pararmount Garments which will see them become title sponosrs of the Harare Province Rugby Board League (HPRBL).
The deal was signed at the giant manufacturer’s offices in Southerton will see Paramount Garments sponsors Harare province Under 20 and Senior leagues for both men and women.
Under the package, Paramount Garments will sponsor the teams’playing & training kit for all the clubs, flag pole, post shields for all playing venues, all referee and match official fees and costs , all ambulance cost for the whole season.
This year’s the tournament increased teams from the previous editions.
Games will be played at Old Hararians, Old Georgians, Harare Sports Club, Churchill High School and Belgravia Sports Club.
Under a new format, following the discontinuation of the U21 Championship, the competition will see Tier 1 teams drawn into the Premiership, while Tier 2 teams will do battle in Division 1.
