THE government has expressed gratitude to the private sector for its support since the outbreak of Covid-19, with underprivileged communities being the main beneficiaries.
Handing over food hampers donated by Hamilton Insurance to the less privileged in Shamva, Lands, Agriculture, Water, and Rural Resettlement Minister, Retired Air Chief Marshal Perrance Shiri said the government is grateful for the symbiotic relationship in mitigating Covid-19.
“This is a mining town and the mine recently closed so the people here are very much in need and we are grateful for Hamilton coming to assist. This is not the first time they have assisted.”
The insurance firm’s Chief Executive Officer Joyce Nousenga said the company will continue assisting the people of Mashonaland Central.
One hundred and fifty beneficiaries comprising the elderly, people with disabilities, and the less-privileged walked away with food hampers to cushion them during the Covid-19 induced lockdown.
