Government is taking the lead in the fight to contain the spread of Covid-19 after Cabinet approved further decongestion of workplaces from 40 to 25 percent to ensure the safety of employees.

The ZBC News crew paid a visit to the public service bus termini along 4th Street and witnessed government leading by example through an efficient and decongested transportation system.

In her post cabinet briefing this Tuesday, the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Senator Monica Mutsvangwa revealed government is taking the lead by reducing its workforce.

“Due to the continued increase in covid-19 cases, government has further reduced its workforce to 25 percent on a two weeks rotational interval and priority will be given to vaccinated personnel,” said Hon. Mutsvangwa.

The move is in line with World Health Organisation protocols to curb the spread of the pandemic.
