George Chigova leaves Polokwane City

THE much talked about Former Warriors goalkeeper, George Chigova’s exit from relegated Polokwane City has been confirmed.
After weeks of speculation over his future at Rise and Shine, towering former Dynamos goalkeeper, George Chigova heralds a list of four players who have left the relegated South African club.
Chigova’s initial contract at Polokwane City was set to expire at the end of June but the two parties penned a two-month deal until the end of the extended season which was disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Following their relegation from the top flight, Polokwane City opted to part ways with four of their experienced players namely Chigova, star midfielder Jabulani Maluleke, defenders Simphiwe Hlongwane and Sibusiso Mbonani.
Reports from South Africa suggest that only players that have running contracts will be allowed back into the squad on the 15th of this month.
Polokwane City’s chief operations officer, Tincy Tema is understood to have given the technical department the right to retain some of the players they still want to work with.
The club is also home to two other Zimbabweans, Walter Musona and Charlton Mashumba.
