Nail-biting encounter as Gamecocks lie in wait for redemption-seeking Green Machine

Troubled Harare Giants Caps United are hoping for a turnaround of fortunes after a string of poor results with ambitious Chicken Inn lying in wait at the National Sports Stadium this Sunday.

With their Green outfit speaking to life, Caps United are hoping to rise from the ashes like a phoenix after turbulent times which have also come with poor results.

After succumbing to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of defending champions FC Platinum which came hard on the heels of defeat by Triangle and Cranborne Bullets, Coach Lloyd Chitembwe believes the bad patch is over.

“There are a lot of things to do. In football there’s never a perfect team. It’s difficult to attain perfection in football, this is the reason why we train and work hard every day to improve on certain important aspects of the game, but come Sunday, mistakes do happen in a game which happens to every team, but we are trying to work on things that we believe will give us a good chance of dominating and controlling the football match so that we get the good results that we desire,” Caps United coach, Lloyd Chitembwe said.

Makepekepe are in an unfamiliar 10th position with 17 points from 14 outings.

Their opponents Chicken Inn, who are second on the log with 28 points, are not reading much from the turmoil in the Green Machine camp, preferring to approach their visit to the National Sport Stadium with caution.

Chicken Inn coach, Joey Antipas noted, “Definitely its a big game. Caps is an opposition we don’t know much about with all the speculations in camp, but there’s no way we’ll put our guns down. We need the 3 points although it’s not going to be easy. The boys need to be switched on, they have been doing okay, but of late we just missed that cutting edge. But it happens in football, you cannot always win and play brilliantly; sometimes you won’t be on top of your game, but we hope we are going to win against Caps because they can be deadly on the day.”

The Gamecocks who drew nil-all with Herentals last weekend, will also be hoping for a better result to return to the top of the table.
