Chief magistrate Munamato Mutevedzi says there is need to engage more magistrates if the judicial service commission is to enhance its operations.
Chief Magistrate Mutevedzi highlighted the need to engage more magistrates when he presided over the swearing in of four magistrates in Harare this Friday.
He said the newly sworn in magistrates will aid in clearing outstanding court cases, but noted the need for more if service delivery in the sector is to be enhanced.
“At a time where every nation is facing the covid19, the courts were not spared but we are happy with the progress here at courts,” said Mutevedzi.
“The sworn in magistrates will enhance efficiency in their delivery of judiciary services although there is need to add more regional magistrates to improve quality of our judicial output as per the Constitution.”
The sworn in magistrates are Talent Mutasa, Caroline Matanga, Blessings Tsingano and Busani Sibanda.
