For his family the midfielder was a darling to many with his brother praising him for lifting the name of the family through his football exploits.
“We are very proud of Barna who has uplifted the family through his works. Barna was very understanding and he was very punctual in whatever he did and we can tell through his death because the coach had told him to return the following day but him being a time keeper he insisted on going back to work the same day,” said Emmanuel Mushunje, brother.
His best friend and Dynamos central defender, Frank Makarati went down memory lane, describing Mushunje as an encouraging friend who was always positive.
“I’m deeply saddened of losing my best friend, we played together at Buffaloes, Ngezi Platinum and reunited at Dynamos before he left for Simba Bhora, we were very close even our families were close. Barna was a brother’s keeper he would guide me in everything especially when we were at Dynamos he paved way for me to be here and I have lost a very good friend,” he said.
Simba Bhora football club pledged to assist the family which has been robbed of a breadwinner.
“As Simba Bhora we are going to cater for his family by receiving a share of his winning bonus and Mushunje’s salary and we promise we are going to fund any project they want so that they can survive,” said Caesar Kufandiko, Simba Bhora Marketing Manager.
Mushunje, who is survived by his wife and two children, will be buried at his rural home in Bocha this Friday.
