THE new ZBC Board has toured Montrose studios in Bulawayo for an appreciation of the national broadcaster’s operations with the focus on content creation.

As part of formulating ZBC’s five-year strategic plan, the board toured Montrose Studios where they had an appreciation of the institution’s daily operations.

The newly appointed board seeks to come up with a five-year strategic plan that enhances the broadcaster’s mandate of promoting Brand Zimbabwe, with Montrose Studios playing a central role in that endeavour.

“We have been given a mandate as a board. The reason why we are here as a board is to come up with a five-year strategic plan that speaks to our mandate of informing, educating and entertaining,” said the ZBC Board chairperson, Ms Helliate Rushwaya.

The ZBC Board Chairperson added that the trip to Montrose is an eye opener on the needs and requirements of the broadcasting centre.

She added, “The core business of ZBC is content creation, so it was really important for us to come. This is part of the bigger strategy that we are working on. We have noticed that the radio studios are being improved and the TV studios need to be improved.”

Montrose Studios prides itself in being the home of national languages which include Kalanga, Sotho, Venda, Xhosa and Nambya, among others.
