Story by Owen Mandovha

ANOTHER batch of 21 Zimbabwean nationals have arrived in the country from Sudan following violence that broke out between government forces and rebels a fortnight ago.

Zimbabwe has demonstrated its diplomatic prowess in smoothly evacuating its citizens from the war-torn country.

The second batch of 21 Zimbabwean nationals arrived at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport this Sunday evening to add on to another 39 Zimbabweans who arrived on Friday.

It was an emotional scene as some recounted the horror of war including 13-year-old Blessed Mahachi.

Gogo Anna Mudekubveni who was welcoming her daughter and grandson was thankful to government for undertaking a seamless evacuation process that saved their loved ones.

Director of Africa, Asia and Pacific Region in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Mr Cosam Mupezeni said three remaining Zimbabwean nationals will arrive on Monday including a pregnant woman.

For its effort in evacuating its nationals, the government has shown its alertness and diplomatic aplomb in looking after its citizens in foreign lands in n line with its mantra of leaving no one and no place behind.
