National Heroes Acre feeder roads rehabilitation works complete

Story by Fungai Jachi

THE Second Republic continues to make strides in infrastructural development, with the National Shrine being the latest to benefit from the construction of feeder roads that will ease movement into the National Heroes Acre.

The move is part of government efforts to preserve national monuments for posterity.

“As a government, it remains our priority to ensure we continue improving our infrastructure. This place is a national monument, and we take pride in seeing that those we gave the work to did a good job,” said the Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Honourable Joshua Sacco.

“As Harare province, we marvel at the magnificent work that was carried out here. This is a good development for us in the province,” Harare Metropolitan Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Charles Tavengwa said.

The contractor spoke on the scope of the road rehabilitation project at the national shrine.

Syvern Construction Contractor general manager, Mr Hilton Manangazira said, “Working on this project was a great honor because it carries a meaning to us as a nation. All major works have been completed and we are glad to have been the ones to do the work. We have contributed to making this national monument great.”

The Second Republic has taken a deliberate stance to improve the infrastructure in the country, including the road network.
