Bravura to exploit metal in the Great Dyke

Story by Mhlomuli Ncube

Bravura Mining Company, which is working on a lithium processing plant in Kamativi, has also unveiled a huge platinum mining project in the Selous area along the Great Dyke.

Government believes the latest move will contribute significantly to the sector’s target of a US$40 billion industry by 2030.

“We are seeing this equipment with our own eyes. It is going to develop and grow our mining sector. These are good times and we have no doubt on our trajectory to grow the mining industry,” said the Deputy Director of Communications in the Ministry of Mines, Mr Wilfred Runyararo Munetsi.

Bravura revealed that its investment is mainly targeted at exploiting platinum through underground mining.

Bravura Projects geologist, Mr Farirayi Kambanje said, “This equipment is specifically for underground operations. It is sourced for that specific purpose and all the work envisaged is for the project in Selous.”

The latest development comes at a time when Zimbabwe has become a fertile haven of investments in the mining sector.
