ZIMBABWE’S representatives in the CAF Champions League, FC Platinum are confident of their chances against Tanzanian side Simba SC ahead of the return leg of the second round set for this Wednesday.

The Zimbabwean Champions who have a slender one-nil lead from the first leg courtesy of a goal by Perfect Chikwende trained at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium in Dar es Salaam this Monday as they stepped up preparations for the encounter.

Simba SC have since declared war on FC Platinum but the Zimbabwean champions have refused to be intimidated with head coach Norman Mapeza saying they will do the talking on the field of play.

“We are having a big game on Wednesday, yes it war,, we hear they have declared war in us but we are not afraid, it’s still a game of football that has to be played over 90mins and that what we are preparing for,” he said.

Mapeza whose side will also have to battle unfavourable weather conditions says there will be no excuses for not progressing to the next stage of the competition.

” The guys need to stay hydrated and keep taking fluids that will be it and we also came here earlier and had a few training sessions and today we are going to be training again at the match venue,” he added.

The Platinum miners have their work cut out against a side that has been accused of employing dirty tactics in the past.

A win will guarantee FC Platinum another dance in the lucrative group stage of Africa’s biggest club competition.
