FC Platinum dismiss social media reports on de Jongh

FC Platinum have dismissed social media reports that expatriate coach Hendrik Pieter de Jongh has joined the club barely a week after the Dutchman announced his departure from Highlanders.
The departure of Hendrik Pieter de Jongh from Highlanders soon after guiding the club to Chibuku Super Cup glory has been a topical issue in football circles with speculation rife that the Dutchman will be joining champions FC platinum.
Be that as it may, authorities at the Zvishavane based side have refuted the claims saying as a club they have laid down procedures which they follow in appointing coaches.
“As it stands Lizwe Sweswe is still our interim coach and is in charge. Social media will remain speculating and apparently we do not have any contract with the said coach. We as a club seat at the end of each season, assess the performances and follow laid down procedures if we want to make any new appointments,” says Chido Chizondo FC Platinum’s Spokesperson
Social media reports had strongly linked De Jongh with three-time Premier Soccer League champions FC Platinum who have been on the hunt for an experienced coach since Norman Mapeza left the club for South Africa’s Chippa United in September.
The Dutchman announced his departure from Bosso on his twitter handle on the 23rd of this month after inspiring the Bulawayo outfit to a decent 6th place finish in the PSL and Chibuku Super Cup glory.
