Fans wait with glee to be back on the terraces

Fans are on cloud nine after the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) gave sports associations the green-light to allow vaccinated spectators to attend sporting events.

The permission has also  seen football lovers rushing to get vaccinated ahead of the Chibuku Super Cup knockout stages.

The requirement therefore also promotes government’s Covid-19 vaccination drive as some fans who were sitting on the fence will just have to get the life-saving jab.

The stipulation that only two thousand vaccinated football fans will be allowed into the grounds, will see a scramble, with only the early birds getting a seat.

The game which was played behind closed doors due to Covid-19 restrictions had been less exciting as the cheer driving the game was absent.

Meanwhile, the Chibuku Super Cup continues this weekend, with Yadah taking on Herentals at the National Sport Stadium this Saturday.

Dynamos will be looking to continue their winning streak when they clash with Harare City at Baobab stadium in Ngezi on Sunday.

Caps United will be looking for a win against ZPC Kariba at their home ground at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
