The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) executive committee is this Wednesday expected to announce the Warriors Coach ahead of the forthcoming Africa cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers.
Months of anxiety are expected to come to an end when the local football governing body’s executive committee meets this Wednesday to decide who will take charge of the Warriors as head coach.
Chicken Inn Coach, Joey Antipas was in charge of the Warriors on an interim basis before his contract expired at the end of last year.
A number of coaches from across the world are understood to have applied for Zimbabwe’s top coaching post and sources claim the list of applicants was trimmed down to 4 with Antipas among the hopefuls.
Filling in the vacant post has become vital owing to the upcoming international assignments that Zimbabwe will be involved in which include the African Nations Championships (CHAN) finals, the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Zimbabwe has back to back Group H AFCON qualifiers against Algeria slated for March 23 and 31 before travelling to Botswana on June 9.
They will complete their group campaign with a home match against Zambia on the 8th of September.
