HARARE giants, Dynamos have put behind the Chibuku Super Cup disappointment as they look to grind a positive result when they host Ngezi Platinum in a league encounter set for the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
A season that promised so much for the Harare giants is on the brink of collapse after Dynamos were eliminated from the Chibuku Super Cup at the hands of the defending champions.
With the Chibuku Super Cup heading to the semi-finals next month, all the traditional giants, including Dynamos, are out of the tournament.
There seems to be a similar scenario in the league, with FC Platinum now poised to clinch a league and cup double, over-shadowing renowned giants Dynamos, Highlanders, and CAPS United.
Dynamos would need to be consistent if they are entertaining any hopes of wrestling the league title from FC Platinum.
“We have put a disappointment of being knocked out of the Chibuku tournament behind us and we are now focusing on our match against Ngezi Platinum Stars. We know that it’s not going to be an easy match, but we are preparing and there’s a lot of history between the two teams. Our preparation is mostly psychological because of what happened last week, but we are back feeling strong and hoping to put up a good fight,” said Dynamos coach, Tonderai Ndiraya.
However, that is easier said than done with Madamburo lying in wait this Sunday.
In their last five league meetings, Ngezi Platinum have won twice with the rest ending in draws.
