DYNAMOS are the 2021 Independence Cup champions after beating rivals Highlanders two-nil in an exciting encounter played at the National Sports Stadium this Sunday afternoon.
Harare giants Dynamos beat bitter rivals Highlanders two (2) nil in the Independence Cup match this Sunday at the National Sports Stadium.
Dembare capitalised from two Bosso mistakes after Ariel Sibanda spilled a harmless looking Trevor Mavhunga shot into his own net for the first goal in the fifth minute.
In the 49th minute, Bosso would suffer another set-back as seasoned defender Peter Muduhwa beat his own goal keeper with a back pass.
Highlanders tired all they could to come back into the game but they found Dynamos goalie, Tymon Mvula in imperious form.
Tonderai Ndiraya the winning coach believes there is still a lot of work to be done.
“We won but we definitely need to work on our fitness ad you can see Bosso was a better team, we are not yet a team and there is a lot of work to be done,” said Dynamos Coach Tonderai Ndiraya.
His opposite number Mandla Mpofu was impressed with the progress that Bosso has made despite the defeat.
“We lost courtesy of mistakes from our senior players but I am happy with the progress we have made as a club and I can actually see where we are going, we have areas we dominated so we have somewhere to star on,” said Mandla Mpofu, Highlanders coach
With just two weeks of training behind both teams, the fans would have been pleased to see the brand of football on display.
