Delegates jet in for 6th Region Forum on SDG’s

UNITED Nations Deputy Secretary-General Dr Amina Mohammed has arrived in the country for the sixth Africa Region Forum on Sustainable Development Goals (ARFSD) which runs from the 24 to 28 February in Victoria Falls.
The intergovernmental and multi-stakeholder platform is meant to accelerate the implementation of SDGs of the continent.
The UN official was welcomed at the Victoria Falls International Airport by Zimbabwean Ambassador to the United Nations Ambassador Frederick Shava and other senior government officials.
Among the key officials who have arrived in the resort town are the African Union Commission Deputy Chairperson, Ambassador Kwesi Quartey, and Executive Secretary of UN Economic Commission for Africa Dr Vera Songwe.
The Sixth session of the Forum will also prepare African countries to effectively participate in the 2020 high-level political forum on sustainable development to be held in New York from 7 to 17 July 2020.
