ALL is set for the Annual Culture Week Commemorations to be held from the 15th to the 21st of this month countrywide.
The commemorations will be held in all the country’s provinces, with the national launch set for Gokwe at Chief Njelele’s homestead.
“The national launch of the culture week commemorations is going to be held in Gokwe in Midlands since we rotate provinces. We will have hybrid national launch and all activities will be hybrid. This means the events will be held both virtually and physically. The physical ones will be shot live with a small number of audience. All provinces will observe the week with Ministers of state officiating. All art disciplines will be on display,” said the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe Dirctor, Nicholas Moyo.
The commemorations are also set to incorporate the national finals of the Cook Out Competition spearheaded by the First Lady, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa.
“All finalists of the national cook out competition will gather in Harare on the 20th for the cook off finals, a brainchild of the first lady,” he said.
A musical gala set for the 21st of this month in Harare will be the icing on the cake.
Culture Week Commemorations are in line with the UNESCO Declaration of 2001 for all countries to observe a day of celebrating arts and cultural diversity.
Zimbabwe has however decided to make it bigger and better by celebrating the local culture for a week.
