Zimbabwe cricket player Tarisai Kenneth Musakanda has appeared in court on culpable homicide charges after allegedly running over former Davis Cup player, Gwinyai Chingoka, who was crossing Simon Muzenda Avenue early this month.

Musakanda (37) is facing charges of failing to report an accident and culpable homicide.

He is expected back in court on the 22nd of this month.

Allegations are that Musakanda failed to keep a proper lookout of the road and hit Chingoka, who was crossing Simon Vengai Muzenda due West.

Chingoka allegedly sustained fractures on the left leg and elbow due to the impact.

It is alleged Musakanda stopped at the scene of accident and ferried Chingoka to Parirenyatwa hospital for treatment.

Chingoka succumbed to the injuries.
