146 people tested positive for COVID-19 this Tuesday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 4221.
All 146 are local cases. 181 recoveries were recorded, bringing the cumulative total to 1238.
In a Covid-19 daily update, the Ministry of Health and Child Care also announced the death of a 22-year-old Bulawayo man due to the coronavirus.
This brings the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 to 81.
Harare and Bulawayo have the highest number of cases, with 1625 and 1065 cases respectively.
There also have the highest number of deaths, with Harare recording 39 deaths and Bulawayo recording 21.
Of the 4221 cases recorded in Zimbabwe 3128 are local transmissions.
Meanwhile, in neighbouring South Africa, the Minister of Health Dr Zweli Mkhize is expected to brief the media today (Wednesday) on the latest developments on coronavirus in South Africa.
This comes as South Africa recorded 4 456 new cases on Tuesday, bringing the cumulative total confirmed number to 521 318.
The Health Department also announced 345 new COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours, rising SA’s total number of deaths to 8 884.
The number of recoveries currently stands at 363 751 which translates to a recovery rate of 69.8%.
