President Emmerson Mnangagwa has announced additional measures to avoid a third wave of Covid-19 which is already affecting some countries.
In a statement the President said during the Easter holidays, travellers coming into the country must undergo vslid Covid-19 PCR tests not more than 48 hours from the time of their departure for Zimbabwe.
He said travellers without the valid Covid-19 test results will be quarantined for 10 days at designated hotels at their own cost.
Learners who are in boarding schools will not be permitted to travel back home and the parents will not be allowed at the boarding schools.
Bars and night clubs will remain closed while all gatherings are limited to not more than 50 people.
The President also advised Zimbabweans to defer unnecessary travel.
Tourists who might want to be vaccinated while in the country will be expected to bear the costs for their vaccination in the country.
